1.4 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. Performance Requirements: Provide recycled rubber resilient underlayment padding, which has been manufactured and installed to maintain performance criteria stated by manufacturer without defects, damage or failure..

1.5 SUBMITTALS

  1. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
  2. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:.
    1. Installation Instructions.
    2. LEED Documentation.
  3. Selection Samples: For each product specified, two samples will be provided for approval.

1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE

  1. Manufacturer's Qualifications: The manufacturer shall be a firm with a minimum of four years of successful experience in manufacture of products with similar requirements
  2. Installer Qualifications: The installer shall be a firm with a minimum of two years of successful experience in installation of products with similar requirements.

1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

  1. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging in a clean dry environment, until ready for installation.
  2. Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.

1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS

  1. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

2.2 PRODUCT

  1. VerdeX 3mm-20mm recycled rubber Acoustical Floor Underlayment Impact Sound Insulation supplied by Primary Acoustics LLC.

2.3 NOISE-REDUCING IMPACT INSULATION SYSTEM FOR WOOD FLOORING, LAMINATE, CARPET, CERAMIC TILE FLOORING

  1. Acceptable Product: VerdeX®
    1. Physical Characteristics:
      • Made from 100% recycled SBR (Styrene-Butadien Rubber) tire rubber.
      • 3mm -20mm
      • 48 inches wide rolls
      • Material Weight 1.8 lb/ft2

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

  1. Do not begin until substrates have been properly prepared.
  2. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

  1. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
  2. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

  1. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

3.4 PROTECTION

  1. Protect installed products until completion of project.
  2. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion..
