The installation procedures of many other acoustical underlayments call for a multitude of steps and require many additional layers of material. VERDEX^® acoustical floor underlayment is simple and easy to install. In 5 Easy Steps, you can achieve PLACE & QUIET^® for your customer. Whether installing under ceramic tile or wood, one single layer of VERDEX^® is all you need with the finished floor adhering or floating directly on top.

Note: VERDEX^® installation is simple, but as with any simple thing, there are minimal precautions to follow in order to make it more efficient.

The purpose of this Installation Guide is to help you become familiar with the techniques which will result in satisfied customers (architects, engineers, building owners, and contractors) at the end of every project.

Please use all necessary and required safety equipment.

STEP 1A:

Vacuum the subfloor - complete removal of dust and debris.

STEP 1B:

Create smooth surface - remove any imperfections and excess concrete.

STEP 2A:

Snap a chalk line - 3/8" from the perimeter of the room.

STEP 2B:

Place VERDEX® (panels) - align with perimeter of chalk line.

STEP 2C:

Remove any excessVERDEX® - cut carefully with knife to meet perimeter chalk line.

STEP 2D:

Place VERDEX® (rolls) - align with perimeter of chalk line.

STEP 2E:

Place VERDEX® together (panels or rolls) - seams shall align without spacing.

STEP 3A:

Pull back VERDEX® to apply adhesive - pull up one-half panel or roll at a time.

STEP 3B:

Spread adhesive glue - use 1/16" x 1/16" trowel to distribute adhesive evenly onto concrete.

STEP 3C:

Replace VERDEX® onto glued surface - make sure seams are aligned and tight.

STEP 4A:

Apply flooring over VERDEX® - follow manufacturer's instructions for hardwood, ceramic, marble, tile, vinyl or VCT.

STEP 4B:

Apply flooring over VERDEX® - follow manufacturer's instructions for hardwood, ceramic marble, tile, vinyl or VCT

STEP 5A:

Fill in 3/8" perimeter seam - use backer rod to fill gap between wall and flooring.

STEP 5B:

Seal perimeter gap - apply 3/8" bead of caulk over backer rod to complete acoustical seal.

STEP 5C:

Apply base board - use cardboard back of standard note pad to maintain acoustic spacing between floor and wall.
